We’re In

Yesterday went well. We’re pretty tired today, but all of our possessions are in the house. Somewhere.
The movers came in a semi-truck, which was really funny to me. I really didn’t think we had that much stuff, but when I look at all the boxes sitting in all the rooms, I start wondering if I’m just dillusional.
The washer and dryer came yesterday as well. We washed a load of rags last night – yeah, you’re probably wondering why have rags be the very first load we do. Well, for one, I couldn’t find the clothes hamper and if something happened it would just be our rags in there. It was a pretty exciting time in our house. We’ve been going to the laundromat since last June to do our laundy. Ahh, no more excuses for not having anything clean to wear.
We’ll try to get some pictures to you as things start to go where they belong. If we can find the camera.

We’re Homeowners!

Well, we did it. We almost sprained our wrists in the process, but we signed all the papers and got the keys to our very first home.
We survived the first night with the bare necessities, but no blinds – I guess blinds could be a necessity, but we don’t have them yet. We won’t give you our address so that you don’t come peeking =o)
We had our first guests come by this morning – Dana, my roommate for 6 years and Jay, Caroline, and Emma Claire. Emma Claire was very curious about the outlets – she’s deprived of the ability to stick her fingers in them at her house…
We got our fridge today and of course, with drama. The first one had a gash in the side, so Mark sent it back. The second one is installed, cold, and making ice – empty, but functioning.
Well, off to cleaning cabinets and baseboards.
We’ll keep you posted.

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes

Sorry it’s been a while since we’ve posted. We’ve been busy away at home trying to pack everything up.
We are having movers, courtesy of our employer, so two nights ago we came home to almost 100 boxes and 200 pounds of packing paper on our front porch. At first, I was being a little conservative with the paper, but we packed all of our kitchen’s breakable things and we’re not even half way through the first of the 4 bundles.
The house in Bella Vista is a little chaotic with the living room FULL of packed boxes, so we’re looking forward to being in our new house this weekend, cleaning and getting it ready for the move on Monday.
Just wanted to update you all that we close on the house today at 3. We’ll try to post again sometime soon – although keep in mind that our internet at home won’t be connected until middle of next week.
